You may be thinking "There are plenty of Mortgage Lenders out there, why should I work with you?"  That's an excellent question; one you should ask of every mortgage lender you interview.  I'm a Licensed Mortgage Broker.  This is very important.  In Washington State, the only people required to be licensed are true Mortgage Brokers like myself, who must earn a Mortgage Broker's license from the state, and carry appropriate insurance coverage & bonding (beware of loan officers who call themselves Mortgage Brokers; always ask if they have earned a Washington State Mortgage Broker's License).  There is no licensing required to be a loan officer, even at a bank or credit union.  If a Loan Officer were to deceive a client and then was confronted with his or her deception, he or she can simply quit and go to the next mortgage company without any recourse; there is no personal  accountability.  As a Washington State Licensed Mortgage Broker, I have my license at risk in every transaction, and there is personal & professional accountability with me.

I Guarantee My Costs & Service IN WRITING.  Many loan officers talk a good game, but when it comes down to it, they guarantee nothing.  Unlike everyone else in the industry, I Guarantee my client's satisfaction (service & costs) in writing on a separate loan document at application.  Should the Broker/Lender costs I estimate increase by more than 5% from the final estimate, I will step up & cover those cost increases.  Ask any loan officer you're considering working with if they do this in writing; you will be surprised at their reaction ("No One Does That!").  Well, I Do.
